Rules & Regulations

  1. No alcoholic beverages on KCR&G Range property at any time.

  2. All shooters must become familiar with the KCR&G Range and below listed range rules prior to shooting.

  3. Red Range flag must be flown at the top of the flagpole prior to any KCR&G Range activity.

  4. No fewer than two members may actively use the KCR&G Range facilities at a time-- one person may fire while the second person must function as a safety person and "spotter" in case of range problems, accidents, traffic or incidents.

  5. Carry firearms unloaded action open, and pointed down range (that is towards the target area and target burms) at all times.

  6. Once on the firing line, keep firearm actions open, muzzles pointed down range and unloaded when not engaged in firing.

  7. Be aware of the East-West access road located behind the 200 yard target burm area; immediately cease fire to accommodate any vehicles on this access road and verbally call for a "Cease Fire" to all other shooters using the KCR&G Range facility. Only when this roadway is clear may firing be safely resumed.

  8. Insure firearms are in good repair and functional prior to any range activity and insure that you possess proper ammunition for your firearm.

  9. When a range officer is present, listen for "cease fire" command; if heard, immediately stop shooting, lock and clear weapons of any ammunition, and keep weapons pointed in a safe direction until further notice. A range officer is required for all club-sanctioned KCR&G Club events on the KCR&G Range facility.

  10. Shooters must recover all trash and empty cartridge cases when shooting is completed. Clean up after your recreation please.

  11. Ricochets are a problem that must be eliminated- if you hear or see ricochets; change the way you shoot to eliminate this danger. Use only the lower center portion of target burms for target backstops; don't shoot at rocks or other things that may cause ricochets, including target spinner devices, trash, bottles, appliances or ay other ono-paper target items. Shooting at the ground or at objects on the ground is unsafe, improper, and unauthorized at the KCR&G Range. DO NOT overshoot he target burms (backstops) for any reason.

  12. Violation of any of these rules is cause for immediate removal of an individual (member or guest) from the Range and the KCR&G Club.
